ASUS is expanding its Chromebook portfolio with the launch of the ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus notebooks. They find their space among the powerful and modern Chromebook range, packing the latest Intel Core Ultra 7 series line. It also marks the debut of ASUS’ Expert-series Chromebook, boasting a 14-inch touch display with an ultralight and sleek all-metal design, along with military-grade protection.

ASUS’ latest ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus series packs the Intel Core 5 125U, Core Ultra 5 135U, Core Ultra 7 155U, and Core Ultra 7 165U processors, depending on the variant. All four include a 16GB of LPDDR5x 6400Mhz RAM coupled with 512GB PCI Express M.2 SSD. This enables lightning-fast speed for accessing files on the drive. More importantly, the company claims it’s the first Chromebook to feature the latest Intel Core 7 processor.
This beauty boasts a 14-inch touchscreen display with a vibrant 2560×1600 resolution and supports up to 500 nits peak brightness, all squeezed into an immersive 89% screen-to-body ratio. This ultralight notebook weighs a mere 1.3 kg and measures a svelte 1.69 cm thick, according to the maker. Additionally, you get an 8MP camera for selfies and video chats.
Moreover, Google Workspace comes pre-loaded, boosting collaboration and ensuring your work is accessible even offline, thanks to File Sync. A fingerprint sensor and Titan C2 chip provide robust security for all your data on the go. Additionally, the notebook hosts a variety of standard ports, including 2 Thunderbolt 4 USB-C, 1 HDMI 2.1, 2 USB Type-A, and a microSD Card Slot.

ASUS hasn’t officially pulled back the curtain on pricing and availability for the ExpertBook CX54 Chromebook Plus series. However, rumors suggest that it will hit shelves in early 2024. Nevertheless, going by the specs, it looks promising. So, the wait might just be worth it.
