The first app we’ll talk about is HERE WeGo. This app used to be known as Nokia HERE Maps, but it transferred to several new owners since then. Having said that, the app didn’t really lose anything in terms of quality, it’s still really good. This is a free navigation app, that offers offline navigation as well. You can download entire countries in this app, and thus forget about Internet connectivity.
It does offer offline navigation for walking, unlike some other services out there. So you’ll always be ready to go, and be able to find your way around, as long as your phone is getting a signal. The app’s design is still excellent. It has that minimalistic UI design, and it’s really easy to use. We haven’t encountered any performance issues with the app recently either, so… it’s definitely worth trying out.

If you’re going camping out in the wild somewhere, do install this on your phone. The name of this app is self-explanatory, it’s a survival manual, which you can use offline. In case you find yourself in need of learning how to make a fire, find food in the wild, or something similar, this manual will come extremely handy.
It has tons of such tips for you, and chances are you’ll reach for it often, unless you’re already experienced. It can come in handy when you’re hiking, camping, and in a ton of additional situations. The manual is divided into categories, so you can access power, planning, kits, apps, basic medicine, shelter, water… and many other categories in this app. The best of all, this app is completely free.

Commercial RV parks in this app are sorted by rating, and you can view them in list mode. Now, if you zoom in, in the provided map view, you’ll be able to see gas stations, rest areas, stores, and so on.
Access to such information is quite useful so that you can prepare all the necessities before you actually hit a campground. The app is less dependent on the Internet than most apps out there, as it uses a local database. The Internet is required to view reviews, maps, and pictures, though. There are 1,000 trails included in the app, plus over 55 senior retirement communities. We’re only scratching the surface here, as you’ll find a ton of information on the inside.

This app does allow you to download maps offline, so that you don’t need the Internet connection while you’re out and about. That’s a great feature to have, as the Internet connection and signal in general are not exactly available in the wild. In it, you can create checklists for things you’ll need on your camping trip. It is a simple checklist-creation app, and that’s a good thing, it won’t overwhelm you with unnecessary features. The app does come with items you may need on your camping trip, but you can add your own, of course.
All the items included in the app are grouped into categories. The ones you add can also be added into various categories, and you can also create new ones. The app does not force ads on you, while the UI design is excellent. the app will show you a ton of information, from daily, and weekly forecast, to the highest and lowest temperature, live temperature, apparent temperature, probability of rain, humidity, dew points, cloud cover, wind speed, wind direction, air quality, and so on. Well, it’s a great app to have for camping, that’s for sure.
You can download everything to work offline, so that you don’t need an Internet connection. This app contains a database of campgrounds, RV parks, backpacker hostels, day stops, POI’s, dump points, information centers, and water points (toilets, showers, taps). Sites are added by WikiCamps users, so it’s always up-to-date. It has over 24,000 site listings, so chances are you’ll find what you’re looking for.
