The Alienware m18 is the gaming laptop you’ve been waiting for
Gaming laptops for many won’t cut it simply because they just don’t have the means to replace a desktop, that is until now with the Alienware m18 that Alienware showed off at CES, its biggest and baddest gaming laptop ever. To be clear, this isn’t Alienware’s first 18-inch laptop. It released a version of the m18 quite a few years ago. But that hardly compares to the version Alienware is launching this year.
This is the gaming laptop you’ve been waiting for. A true contender to be a desktop replacement. Powered by Intel’s latest 13th Gen CPUs and NVIDIA’s latest 40 series GPUs. As an 18-inch laptop it has a big screen for playing games on, and although it is a hulking machine, it can be portable when you need it to be. Serving as your home gaming PC and on your on-the-go gaming PC in one package.
Alienware is using the latest tech for an unparalleled gaming experience
As both a gaming laptop and a replacement for a gaming desktop, this is the complete package. It’s using Intel’s top of the line 13th Gen Core i9-13980HX CPU and you can get it configured with up to an NVIDIA RTX 4090. You can also go all the way up to 64GB of RAM and up to 9TB of storage.
On the outside, the m18 is using Alienware’s latest iteration of the Legend design language. Much of the design is similar to last year’s laptop models. But there are some refined aesthetics. The lid is now easier to lift and the laptop in general is now easier to hold. Alienware also got rid of the glossy black plastic.
The back of the laptop is now flat instead of using this slanted edge seen on Alienware’s 2022 devices too. Speaking of the back, it has enough ports for all of your peripherals. Including HDMI 2.1, an SD reader, two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a slew of others.
And of course, we can’t forget about the display options. Alienware lets you choose a QHD+ display if you favor resolution. This comes with a 165Hz refresh rate, which is no slouch by any means. But if you favor frame rate, you can opt for the FHD+ display instead which comes with a 480Hz refresh rate.
All of these reasons and more are why we had an absolute need to give the Alienware m18 the Best of CES award this year.
