The Huawei Watch GT Cyber can basically change outfits to adapt to any occasion.
The Huawei Watch GT Cyber is one of the company’s newest smartwatches. It’s also the latest smartwatch that Huawei announced globally, as that’s exactly what happened during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 in Barcelona. The Huawei Watch GT Cyber is actually on the receiving end of one of our ‘Best of MWC 2023’ awards. This smartwatch is… well, interesting, to say the least.
Many smartwatches offer customizable software, Huawei’s included. Pretty much all of them allow you to change the watch bands too. Well, the Huawei Watch GT Cyber takes things to a whole new level. The Huawei Watch GT Cyber can change its shells, but that’s not where things end. Let’s see what it’s all about, shall we?
Quick-to-Change cases and a replaceable “crown”
The Huawei Watch GT Cyber can actually change its shells, or as Huawei calls them “Quick-to-Change watch cases”. As you can see in the provided image, the core part of a smartwatch is rather small. You can easily change its case, or frame, if you will. Depending on what’s the occasion you’ll wear this watch at, you can adapt your style. The middle part of the watch kind of fits every occasion, the shell is what makes the difference. The watch has a “push-type buckle” design, as Huawei calls it. Changing these shells is really easy.
That’s not all, though. Not only can you replace the watch shell, and a watch band, but the “crown” too. That rotating button on the right side is also referred to as the “crown”, and you can easily replace it. This truly is a level of customizability no other smartwatch offers, at least not one we’ve seen. Customizing software is one thing, but this level of hardware customization is a whole different story.
Durability, health & battery life
When the shell is on, this watch does look quite durable, and it is. Not only is it 5 ATM rated, which means you can take it up to 50 meters below the water surface, but it also offers 16-test military-level durability. The Huawei Watch GT Cyber is one tough cookie. It also comes with a number of health-related features. It includes 24/7 heart rate monitoring, TruSleep 3.0 sleep monitoring, TruSeen 5.0+ vital signs monitoring, and much more. On top of that, you’ll find a ton of sports modes included on the watch.
If you’re worried if this watch can last despite its 1.32-inch 466 x 466 AMOLED display, well, don’t be. Huawei says you can get up to 7 days of typical use, and based on the other Huawei watches I’ve reviewed in the last couple of years, that’s easily true. Huawei’s smartwatches usually have outstanding battery life, and on average I’m getting around 10 days of use out of them before they need to be charged. So, this one should be able to go on for a week, though that will depend on your usage, of course. All in all, Huawei has a really interesting package on its hands here, it seems.
