The OnePlus 11 Concept is undeniably cool looking thanks to its ‘Active CryoFlux’ tech.

The OnePlus 11 Concept is the company’s latest ‘Concept’ phone. It was shown off during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona recently, and we’ve decided to send one of our ‘Best of MWC 2023’ awards its way. The OnePlus 11 Concept is based on the OnePlus 11, but it’s much more futuristic-looking, and also rather interesting at the same time. The company included an interesting cooling tech on the inside, which it allows you to peek at through the phone’s back.

This phone won’t go on sale, by the way. OnePlus did show it off for bragging rights. The company created something interesting, and it wanted to show it off. It did that in the past as well, as many of you will remember the OnePlus Concept One and its “invisible” camera system on the back. We were hoping that its electrochromic glass tech will make its way to a consumer product, but that didn’t happen, at least not thus far. Who knows maybe this cooling system will at some point. In any case, let’s talk a bit more about the device.

The OnePlus 11 Concept features ‘Active CryoFlux’ cooling tech

The star of the show, when it comes to the OnePlus 11 Concept, is the ‘Active CryoFlux’ tech that OnePlus is using. This is basically internal cooling which you can partially see through the phone’s backplate. You can see the phone’s cooling tubes, partially, and the fluid on the inside. That makes the phone glow in a bluish color from the back, and it does look quite futuristic because of it. You’ll also notice a blue light around the camera island too.

Initially, based on the company’s teasers and leaks, everyone thought these were LED lights, similar to what the Nothing Phone (1) offers. Well, that’s not true at all. This is an entirely different approach, and thanks to the pattern, it really does change up the looks of this phone. It does remind us of gaming PCs to an extent. The Active CryoFlux system can reduce temperatures up to 2.1°C, in theory. It can also reduce the temperatures when the phone is charging by 1.6°C, and thus ever so slightly speed up its charging.

It also has powerful specs on the inside, courtesy of the OnePlus 11

This phone is based on the OnePlus 11, so its internals are largely the same. That doesn’t mean much to you as you won’t be able to get it, but it has powerful specs. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is included, along with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. A 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED LTPO display is also a part of the package, along with a large battery. A 5,000mAh battery also sits on the inside, while the phone supports charging up to 100W. Essentially, it has the OnePlus 11 internals.

It would be great to see one of these ‘Concept’ devices actually make it to market. OnePlus could make a limited number of these devices, and push them out to consumers, that would be great to see. It doesn’t look like it will happen, based on what we’ve heard, but there’s always a chance OnePlus will change its mind. It really did create something very interesting and different here.
