Xiaomi impressed us all at MWC with its prototype for wireless AR glasses
MWC is currently going on, and we are seeing all sorts of neat and interesting devices from top tech brands around the world. One of them was the Chinese brand Xiaomi. The company introduced us to its latest concept for wireless AR glasses.
While “Metaverse” is no longer the main buzzword in the tech industry (that title now belongs to “AI”), it doesn’t mean that companies have stopped working on new XR products. Xiaomi gave us a look at its AR glasses that are meant for the premium market.
We get a look at the Xiaomi AR glasses at MWC
These are called the Xiaomi AR Glasses Discovery Edition, and they’re made to be a pair of premium glasses. Not only are they premium, but they’re also designed to be wireless. You’ll pair these headphones with your device using NFC. Also, they will use low-latency wireless communication. The promises a fast and seamless experience.
The glasses themselves could use a very sturdy magnesium-lithium alloy which will make for a premium feeling all around. Not only that, but the company also used carbon fiber with these glasses. This ensures that they’ll be tough enough for daily use.
Digging into the specs, these Xiaomi AR glasses will use micro-LED technology that will be capable of producing a 1,200nit brightness. This will make them easy to see in daylight. They will produce an FHD+ picture.
There are cameras on the front of the glasses that they will use to map out the environment. This will ensure accuracy when interacting with objects in the metaverse.
Because of the company’s attention to detail and excellent hardware, the Xiaomi AR Glasses Discovery Edition was able to win our award for Best of MWC.
