It is a mapping / navigation app that will help you get to the spots you choose. It’s great for road trips, as it’s a great navigation app. In addition to that, it can help you locate various stores, gas stations, and so forth.
This application is free to use, and it doesn’t include ads. You can even download a specific part of a map, so that you have access to it even if you lose the Internet connection. You may need that feature, or you may not, it all depends on where will your road trip take you. Regardless, Google Maps is a great app to have for road trips, as it’s one of the best navigation apps around, if not the best one.

Roadtrippers is an excellent road trip planning application. This app will allow you to discover a ton of places to visit, and plan everything out in advance. It will show you various local diners, interesting roadside attractions that you wouldn’t find otherwise, scenic points, national parks, and even hotels. The app even delivers pre-made trip guides, just in case you don’t want to plan everything on your own.
This app is free to use, though there are limitations. The app allows you to plan out a route with up to 7 waypoints, if you need more than that, you’ll need to upgrade to Roadtrippers Plus. Chances are most of you will need more than 7 waypoints, though that all depends on your road-tripping plan, of course. Whatever the case may be, this app is a great tool for road trips.

Spotify is an app that many of you are probably quite familiar with. This is a music streaming app, which also serves as an app for podcast listening. If this is your app of choice, it will be a great tool for a road trip, that’s for sure. Regardless whether you’d like to fire up some songs for your road trip, or listen to a podcast, it’s great to have around. You can even cache some content offline in case you don’t expect to have access to the Internet.
Be sure to make some playlists beforehand, though. Even if you don’t, Spotify has great suggestions to throw your way, and we’re sure you’ll find some great songs for road trips on there. Spotify is just one example of a great audio streaming application, of course, if you’re a YouTube Music user, that’s perfectly fine. There are quite a few audio streaming services out there, so… whichever you choose will come in handy during a road trip.

RV Parks & Campgrounds app, as its name says, will help you locate RV parks and campgrounds across the US, Canada, and Mexico. The app comes with no ads. Now, most of you will likely look for campgrounds only in this app, unless you have an RV and plan to go road tripping in it.
That’s perfectly fine, as the app offers a ton of information. It will show you privately owned RV parks, public parks, US Military campgrounds, 1,000 trails, 55+ senior retirement communities, and much more than that. This application becomes especially useful if you’re planning to take a longer road trip, during which you’ll make longer stops just to camp out for a bit.

The app will make sure you never pay the full gas price again, as long as you live in the US. The app works on a ton of stations, from Shell to Chevron & Wawa to Speedway. There is a map included inside the app, which will help you find the cheapest gas.
You can search for any type of fuel, regular, midgrade, premium, diesel, E85, and UNL88. You can also sort those findings by price, location, and cost. On top of all that, the app will show you restrooms, convenience stores, restaurants, and more. As a GasBuddy user, you’ll also be able to report gas prices for fellow users, and help them by doing so. The design of this app is also spot on, which makes it even easier to use.
AAA Mobile

It’s essentially a roadside assistance application. A subscription for roadside assistance is always good to have, especially if you’re going on road trips. You never know when something may go wrong with your car, RV, or whatever else you’re using for road trips.
AAA Mobile is a great-looking app, which will provide you with all the assistance you need. You’ll be able to find over 59,000 AAA Approved and Diamond Rated hotels and restaurants. You can book your next hotel or rental car via this app, and also save cash with member discounts at over 164,000 locations. You can also find AAA Approved Auto Repair facilities, AAA office locations, and the cheapest gas prices near you.
HERE WeGo

HERE WeGo is another excellent mapping solution, Unlike Google Maps, however, it allows you to use it in full offline mode. You can simply download the entire country / state to your smartphone, and be good to go, never worrying about an Internet connection. Google Maps, on the other hand, allow you to download only particular pieces of the map, and that may not be enough for your road trip.
HERE WeGo also provides offline navigation for walking, and it does a great job with it. The app’s design is excellent, it’s minimalistic, and it puts all the focus on the map itself. There’s a ton of information that the map provides, even if you go in full offline mode. Needless to say, using this app while connected to the Internet has a lot of benefits, so if you can do that, we’d suggest you do it.

Airbnb is one of those apps that doesn’t require a special introduction. It’s one of the best apps around to find an accommodation, quickly. You can simply search for places to rent wherever you go. There are tons of listings at your disposal, and for each of them, you’ll get to see a ton of reviews. You’ll also get a lot of information about each place that is being rented out via the app, so that you can make your decision accordingly.
It’s extremely easy to book a rental via this app, and you can do it on the go. The app also provides a ton of additional information about the area you’re planning to spend your time in. The design of this app also shines. The app offers a very simple and yet functional design, it looks great, and it’s a joy to use. You can use it completely free, though you’ll need to pay for a place you’ll be staying at, of course.

If you’re not travelling alone, and you need to split your expenses with the other person, Splitwise is a great app to have. This app will make sure to end the “who owes who” problem. You can use Splitwise to organize group bills for households, trips, and more. Most people will use this app for trips, though you can use it for your expenses at home as well, if that’s something you need.
It’s great for splitting rent and apartment bills, for group grips, for splitting a vacation house for skiing or at the beach. If you need to split the payment for a bachelor party, or perhaps you’re in a relationship and want to split costs with your better half… none of that is a problem with Splitwise. This app will also back up your expenses online, and present everything in a really nice-looking UI.

OpenTable is an app you’ve likely heard of by now. This app will show you the restaurants near you, and make sure you find a perfect place to dine. There are over 52,000 restaurants included in OpenTable’s database. The app allows you to check out menus, photos, and special promotions for restaurants, while also getting some feedback from other OpenTable users who have visited those restaurants.
Booking a reservation via this app is also a breeze. You can even earn points to redeem for dining rewards via this app, they can go towards future meals, hotel discounts, and more. Even re-booking your favorite places is easy via the app, while OpenTable’s recommendation system also works as intended. This is an excellent app for finding a place to dine, and it offers a nice-looking UI as well.
