Some people see it as a great Dark Sky alternative, while others simply love this app’s combination of simplistic design and useful features.
Weawow’s UI is spot on. It looks simplistic, and it’s just a joy to use. This app actually uses photos shared by its users, and matches them with weather conditions. You’ll get tons of useful info here, including highest and lowest temperature, apparent temperature, probability of rain, UV index, wind direction, air quality, pollen, clouds cover, atmospheric pressure, and so much more. Useful widgets are also included, and many more features.

Tomorrow.io is not new, but it’s newer compared to most others on this list. This app is quite great, though, and extremely accurate as well. It offers minute-by-minute, and street-by-street forecasts, which can come in quite handy. It analyses weather at 1,600 feet resolution (500 meters). The app will also provide you with severe weather alerts, and safety tips from the National Weather Service.
That’s not all, though. Tons of useful information can be found inside this app, weather-related, of course. You’ll get all the basics, such as the temperature, predictions for every hour remaining in the day, and so on. On top of that, this app looks great. It offers that minimalistic look that most people really like, and it does a great job at it. The design is not boring or anything of the sort, as plenty of color is used as well.

Yahoo Weather has been around for a long, long time. The company is not exactly in the center of attention any longer, but this app is still doing really well. Yahoo Weather is a very reliable application, which offers a slightly different design than most other weather apps. The design is kind of minimalistic, but thanks to that see-through background, it puts a different spin on things.
It also offers animated scenography based on the time of day and weather conditions, that also makes it kind of unique. You’ll also find some nice-looking photos from Flickr included here, while you can track a ton of cities and destinations if you want. You can browse interactive maps, and get radar, satellite, heat, and snow information. This app is also enabled for TalkBack, in case you need that feature.

This app has been around for a long time, and even though it received quite a few negative reviews in the Play Store lately due to some issues, it’s still one of the best weather apps around. This app offers tons of options for you, and it shares a ton of weather-related information as well. All that packed into a really nice-looking package.
This app comes with a ‘conditional background feature’, which essentially means that the background will be changed based on various conditions. Live weather forecast information can be accessed here, while several weather warnings will be sent out to you. You’ll get all the basic information you may want, while the app also provides a daily snapshot of vital stats and detailed live radar maps.

WeatherBug is, without a doubt, one of the best weather apps for Android. On top of being really accurate, it delivers some unique features. One such example is ‘Spark’, which provides lightning alerts. The app also has animated weather maps, 18 of them, actually. It can provide weather for over 2.6 million locations all over the world. You’ll also get news alerts and featured videos about local conditions and events inside this app.
Weather forecasts and conditions are, of course, included. You will get real-time weather conditions here, and detailed hourly and 10-day forecasts. Doppler radar animation for precipitation is included, and much more. Information regarding air quality, pollen count, hurricanes, and fire are also included here. The app’s UI also looks really good, by the way, and that’s a huge plus.
YoWindow

YoWindow is one of those nice-looking apps that also offer quite a few widget options. If you like having a weather widget on your home screen, you should try this app out. There are several widgets to choose from here. You can opt for a clock and weather widget, or for a weekly weather forecast one. A 14-day forecast widget is also an option, and a widget for today’s weather as well.
These widgets are extremely simple in terms of the design, and won’t clutter up your home screen by a significant degree. The app’s forecast information is also really nice, and it even offers scenic photo-landscapes from some cities in the US, and around the world. The app’s design is very simple as well. It combines a nice landscape background with white-colored weather information.

Overdrop is one of the nicest-looking weather apps I’ve stumbled upon. This application comes with a really minimalistic, and yet excellent-looking UI design. On top of that, it’s extremely functional as well. It did not get the popularity some other apps on this list have, but this application is worth trying out, at the very least. The app actually offers over 50 widgets for you to choose from, from white to gray and OLED black.
Overdrop delivers detailed hyperlocal weather data, and can also notify you when severe weather conditions are expected. The app provides a 24-hour forecast, and also a 7-day forecast. Weather notifications are customizable from within the app, and you can also check out radar maps if you want. This app relies on three weather providers, and the developer also says that your privacy is safe, as your data never leaves the device.

Yandex.Weather is yet another really popular, and quite compelling app for Android. This application also comes with a minimalistic UI, but also much more than that. This app also packs in gesture navigation, which is not something you’d expect. So, if you swipe up on the main screen, you’ll see a daily forecast. Swiping right will get you hourly air temperature changes, while swiping left will reveal wind speed, humidity, and air pressure conditions.
The app also offers home screen and notification panel widgets. You can set predetermined locations for weather information, if that’s what you need. The app doesn’t have a ton of feature slike some other apps do, but all the basics are here. The most important of all, the app works really well, it’s smooth, and a joy to use overall.

If you like to have access to radar and satellite forecast, well, Windy.com is the app for you. The developer claims that this app is used by professional pilots, paragliders, skydivers, and much more. Well, we can see why, as radar and satellite forecast can reveal a ton of accurate information. This app can be extremely useful if you’re planning a trip to nature, or perhaps plan on doing some sports activities out of the city. You don’t want to be unprepared.
Windy actually brings you all the leading forecasting models, including global ECMWF and GFS, plus local NEMS, AROME and ICON (for Europe), and NAM (for the US). There are 40 weather maps available inside. From wind, rain, temperature, and pressure, to swell or CAPE index, you’ll get all the necessary information. The image frequency for the global satellite is 5-15 minutes, based on area, and the doppler radar covers large parts of Europe, America, Asia, and Australia.

Today Weather is an app that collects weather data from 10 sources. Thos sources include National Weather Service (weather.gov), Accuweather.com, Here.com, Dark Sky, Foreca.com, Weather.gc.ca, Weatherbit.io, Open Weather Map, Yr.no, and Smhi.se. You’ll get a ton of information in this app, and the app’s UI is one of the best we’ve seen. It’s simple, and yet really easy to use.
Rain and snow alarm option is available here, the app can notify you. The same goes for severe weather alerts, while the radar option can be accessed as well. You can see daily and weekly forecast without a problem. A widget for quick-view weather forecast is available as well. All other, regular information is visible too, such as actual temperature, humidity, dew point, air pressure, wind speed and direction, and more.
