Bose is known for high-quality sound and high-quality active noise cancellation. And those are two things that will be standout features of these earbuds. The active noise cancellation, Bose says, is “world-class” and we’re inclined to agree. Having briefly tried a pair I can say it’s some of the best noise cancellation in a pair of earbuds I’ve ever tried. There was no trouble in blocking out noise that I didn’t want to hear so I could focus on the music. That being said I only tried these for a short time indoors through a friend.
I imagine that things might be different depending on where you are when listening to these. And what kind of sound you’re trying to block out would surely have an impact on how much sound makes it though if any. For example, using them outside while trying to block out the noise of passing traffic. The earbuds also have two different noise cancellation modes available. Quiet Mode, and then Immersion Mode. The Immersion Mode offers full noise cancellation. In addition to the noise cancellation, Bose has fitted these with spatial audio for a more immersive sound stage.
Worth noting is that if you use the immersive audio you’ll get about 4 hours of listening time on a single charge. But you can bump that up to 6 hours if you turn it off. Or, you can leave the immersive audio on and simply charge the earbuds for 20 minutes. This will give you another 2 hours of playtime so you can keep listening to what you love.
