A new Nokia tablet has just popped up on the FCC website with model number TA-1462. This appears to be a variant of the Nokia T10 entry-level Android tablet that we have been hearing about for some time now. The device could be an even more affordable alternative to the company’s rather impressive Nokia T20 budget tablet launched late last year.
The FCC certification doesn’t mention the device’s marketing name but reveals some of its key specs (via). Firstly, the supposed Nokia T10 tablet features an 8-inch LCD screen with a 1280 x 800 pixels resolution. The panel appears to refresh at 60Hz, which is the bare minimum.
The Nokia T10 gets a single camera at the back. It is an 8-megapixel sensor made by Chinese firm C&T. Nokia has also sourced the 2-megapixel front camera for the tablet from the same supplier. The 5,100mAh battery is made in-house and so is the 10W charger. This may not be the biggest battery you find in tablet devices but the Nokia T10 isn’t the biggest tablet either. The battery should be able to power it for a day.
This tablet will offer LTE cellular connectivity on top of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity options. It will also feature a 3.5mm headphone jack. Schematics of the device found in FCC documents suggest the Nokia T10 will have similarly rounded corners as the Nokia T20. Of course, the latter is a lot more superior in pretty much every aspect. It features a 10.4-inch display with 1200 x 2000 pixels resolution, a 5-megapixel selfie camera, and an 8200mAh battery with 15W fast charging. The Nokia T20 debuted at $249.99. We expect the Nokia T10 to sell for under $200.
The Nokia T10 could go official in the coming months
This listing on the FCC website doesn’t reveal anything else about the Nokia T10, which is codenamed Penguin, according to noted leaker Evan Blass. This codename was spotted on Google’s Android device provisioning services website in May. Russian regulatory body had also certified an unannounced Nokia tablet with model numbers TA-1472 and TA-1457 back in February. It’s unclear if those are regional variants of the Nokia T10.
Nonetheless, this tablet could go official in the coming months. Nokia also has a few budget and mid-range smartphones awaiting market release, including the Nokia G400 5G that it announced at CES 2022 in January. This phone could arrive in the market with a new name. We will keep you updated on all of these upcoming Nokia products.
