Earlier this month, during the OnePlus 11 launch event, the company confirmed that its first flagship handset is coming in Q3 2023. OnePlus just talked a bit more about it as part of MWC 2023 in Barcelona. The company said that the first OnePlus foldable will be a “flagship phone”, while also adding that it will arrive in H2 2023.
First OnePlus foldable will be a “flagship” device, and it’s coming in H2 2023
It’s interesting that OnePlus didn’t highlight Q3 2023 as it did earlier this month. Perhaps there’s a chance that the phone won’t be ready for the Q3 launch. So, this way, OnePlus is keeping its options open. We’ll have to wait and see.
Now, the company’s President and COO, Kinder Liu, said that the company’s first foldable will “have the signature OnePlus fast and smooth experience”. He also added that “it must be a flagship phone that doesn’t settle because of its folding form”.
We can expect an industrial design here. Mr. Liu also added that OnePlus wants to “launch a device that aims to be at the pinnacle experience of today’s foldable market”.
Truth be said, we expected OnePlus to release a bit more information during MWC, but there you have it. It was noted, however, that more information about the device will be released in the coming months.
We presume that OnePlus will stick to its usual ways, and trickle down information about the phone. We’ll probably get one teaser after the other moving forward, and more prominent information as the launch event gets closer.
It may be larger than the OPPO Find N2 after all
Now, initial information about this phone suggested that it may be a rebranded OPPO Find N2. Well, that may not be the case, as it may be larger than OPPO’s offering, at least based on a recent report. Let’s hope OnePlus will share more info in the near future.
