Best Buy has brought the price of the Google Pixel 8 back down to its Black Friday price after going up for a week. So today, you can pick up a Pixel 8 from Best Buy for only $549. That is going to save you $150 off of its regular price and makes it a pretty good deal, nonetheless.
We recently named the Google Pixel 8 the best compact phone of 2023, and it’s not hard to see why. This is a pretty small phone, appeasing those who do wish to have a smaller phone these days, but with flagship specs still.
Google has outfitted the Pixel 8 with a 6.2-inch display, which is now 120Hz, something that the iPhone 15 can’t even say, and it’s the same MSRP. The Pixel 8 is quite curvy, and that does make it really nice to hold in the hand. Additionally, it has the camera bar on the back, which has really started to grow on me. It helps make the Pixel stand apart from the competition, but it also keeps the phone from rocking on a table.
Speaking of cameras, there is a wide and ultrawide sensor on-board. No telephoto, you’d need to upgrade to the Pixel 8 Pro for that one, unfortunately. This is a Pixel, so you know what you’re getting with the camera. Some pretty good pictures infused with plenty of AI magic. This includes Magic Editor, which is honestly one of my favorite features on the Pixel 8. It provides you with some really cool ways to change up your photos, like removing people and things, changing the background, and more.
Finally, there’s one aspect of the Pixel 8 that we cannot overlook, and that is the software update portion. Google is promising seven years of updates – that’s Android OS, feature drops, and security patches – that’s unheard of. And it’s likely that you’ll be done with your phone before Google stops updating it.
