The HONOR Magic5 Pro launched as the company’s flagship smartphone today. The company announced it as part of MWC 2023 in Barcelona. We’ve already shared our announcement post with you, and are here to take a closer look at the HONOR Magic5 Pro specifications.
The HONOR Magic5 Pro has powerful specifications led by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC
This phone has a lot to offer spec-wise, HONOR basically decided to include top-of-the-line specs. That being said, let’s kick things off by talking about its display. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, one of the best mobile chips out there.
The company decided to back that processor with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 flash storage. Those are the latest and greatest RAM and storage chips available, and yes, that is the only version that will be available.
A 6.81-inch LTPO Quad-Curved Floating display is also included here. That is a curved panel that supports a 120Hz refresh rate (adaptive), and it offers a resolution of 2848 x 1312. The PPI here is 461.
Its display get immensely bright, as it goes up to 1,800 nits
This display can project 1.07 billion colors, and supports HDR10+ content. It also comes with PWM 2,160Hz dimming for low light environments. On top of everything, this panel also gets immensely bright at 1,800 nits of peak brightness. It also has the TUV Rheinland certification for low blue light output.
A 5,100mAh battery is also included inside the phone, and the device offers 66W wired charging. Yes, the charger is included in the box. 50W wireless charging is also on offer here.
Android 13 comes pre-installed on the phone, along with HONOR’s MagicOS 7.1 skin. Bluetooth 5.2 is supported here, while the company included stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra support. There are also two SIM card slots on offer (2x nano SIM), while eSIM is also supported. The phone does support 5G as well.
Three 50-megapixel cameras are included, and one of them is a periscope telephoto unit
A 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.6 aperture, 1/1.12-inch sensor) is backed by a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera (f/2.0 aperture, 122-degree FoV). A 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (f/3.0 aperture, 3.5x optical zoom, 100x digital zoom, Sony’s IMX858 sensor) also sits on the back.
A 12-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.4 aperture, fixed focus) is included on the front, along with a 3D depth camera. The phone does support 3D facial scanning, which is the reason for that pill-shaped cutout on the front. The device also has a TOF Laser Focusing Sensor, and a multi-spectrum color temperature sensor.
HONOR did include a Dual-TEE Security System (HTEE+QTEE) here, and a discrete security chipset. A Type-C USB port sits at the bottom of the phone, and an in-display fingerprint scanner is also a part of the package.
The phone is water and dust resistant, and comes in two color options
The HONOR Magic5 Pro is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. The phone measures 162.9 x 76.7 x 8.77mm, while it weighs 219 grams. It comes in Black and Meadow Green colors.
