A few things to remember
Paring your Galaxy Buds FE is pretty simple, and Samsung will make the process easy. Before we get into it, there’s something to know.
We know that Samsung has its tight-knit ecosystem of products. Be that as it may, the Galaxy Buds FE are not locked to the Galaxy ecosystem. So, if you feel that you need to have a Galaxy phone to use these, don’t worry. You can get them and use them on your other Android device, computer, or Mac computer.
That being said, you’ll get the best experience with a Galaxy device. For starters, Galaxy devices have the Galaxy Wearable app. This is the app interface that lets you adjust settings for your earbuds, check the battery status, and change the modes. This is the most intuitive way to adjust your Galaxy Buds.
Secondly, the Galaxy Buds are deeply integrated into Samsung’s One UI. You’re able to adjust the sound mode right from the notification shade. This is something that you can’t do on other phones. So, the Galaxy Buds FE will work on other devices, but you’ll definitely get the most optimized experience with a Galaxy phone.
How to pair your Samsung Galaxy Buds FE
Setting up your earbuds is a very simple process to do. It might be a little different depending on the device you’re using and its age. Modern Android phones have fast pair technology that makes pairing new devices easy. Firstly, make sure your earbuds have a charge. Then, open the charging case. If your buds aren’t paired to any other device, it will enter pairing mode.
This will make it visible to the other devices around them. If you’re using an Android phone running Android 10+, you should see a panel pop up at the bottom of the screen. Tap on the Connect button, and this will automatically pair your earbuds to your device.
If the panel doesn’t pop up or if you’re using a phone running an operating system older than Android 10, go to your Bluetooth settings. Go through the process of adding a new Bluetooth device for your phone. You might have to tap on a Scan or Search button. If you have a Pair new device or Add new device button, tap on it.
Using the Galaxy Wearable app
Just like you’re pairing other devices, open the charging case. Next, open the Galaxy Wearable app. You’ll see a starting screen that will cycle between a picture of a Galaxy Watch and a pair of Galaxy Buds. Tap on the Continue button at the bottom of the screen.
When you do that, the app will do a search for the devices. Make sure that the earbuds are close to the phone or tablet you’re pairing to. Once the app finds the earbuds, you’ll see a little button appear with the name of the device. Tap on it.
Then, the app will ask for your permission to connect to the device via Bluetooth. Tap on the Pair button. When you do that, your device will officially be connected to your earbuds.
Unpairing the Galaxy Buds
If you want to disconnect your earbuds from your device, the process is also simple. For starters, if you’re just looking to temporarily disconnect your device, tap on the hamburger-style menu in the top left corner. You’ll see a list of your connected devices. Just tap on the disconnect button for the device. It’s the little chain link icon. If you want to reconnect the earbuds, just tap on the icon again.
If you want to completely unpair the earbuds, go to your system’s Bluetooth settings. Tap on the Galaxy Buds and look for the Unpair option.
Tour of the app
When you enter the app, you’ll see a pretty simple interface. At the top of the front page, you’ll see a bar that extends to either side of the screen. These are the noise controls. You’ll use this to switch between ANC (active noise cancelation), Ambient Sound, and normal mode.
Under that, you’ll see the section to adjust the earbuds’ touch controls. When you tap on the menu, you’ll be able to toggle different touch control gestures. The tap-and-hold gesture is the only one that you can customize. You can set the tap-and-hold gesture to adjust the volume, summon Bixby, or adjust the sound mode.
Next, the earbuds settings will let you adjust the fundamental settings for your earbuds. You’ll want to go through these settings to better tailor the experience to your liking. There are a lot of settings to look through, so you’ll want to be thorough.
Next, if you happen to misplace your earbuds, you can use the Find My Earbuds button under the settings. This option will play some high-pitched sounds through the earbuds. The sound will gradually increase in volume until you find them. With that feature, just make sure that none of the earbuds are in your ear.
