Jabra makes some of the best audio products out there. At IFA 2022, the company announced its latest pair of TWS (true wireless) earbuds, the Jabra Elite 5. Priced at $149, these are mid-range offerings with some premium features such as active noise cancellation (ANC) and multipoint connectivity.

Jabra Elite 5 specs and features

The Jabra Elite 5 feature 6mm speakers with customizable EQ for the desired sound output. Powered by Qualcomm’s QCC3050 Bluetooth SoC, the pair comes with Qualcomm aptX Audio for high-quality audio. They boast hybrid ANC to block background noise so your music isn’t interrupted in public places. It uses “feedback microphones on the inside and feedforward microphones on the outside” for more effective and efficient ANC.

A six-microphone array with call technology and wind noise suppression ensures you are heard properly during calls. The external microphones are active all the time to listen to you. Speaking of which, the Jabra Elite 5 comes with built-in Google Assistant and Alexa support for hands-free voice control.

These earbuds support Bluetooth Multipoint so you can connect to two devices simultaneously. You can quickly switch the audio from one device to the other, without fiddling through the Bluetooth menu. And talking about connectivity, they boast both Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift pair. So connecting to your Android smartphone or Windows computer should be hassle-free. You also get Spotify Tap Playback for seamless music streaming from Spotify.

The Jabra Elite 5 is rated to last up to seven hours on a single charge, with ANC turned on. The Danish brand claims that the wireless charging case can supply three rounds of full charge to the buds. So you get up to 28 hours of total battery life. Without ANC, you get a battery life of up to 36 hours. The pair also offers an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance. So they should be good to wear during slight drizzle or extensive, sweaty workouts. You might still want to avoid taking them for a swimming session, though.

Price and availability

The Jabra Elite 5 is now available to purchase in Gold Beige and Titanium Black colors from select retailers around the world, including in the US. As said earlier, the buds cost $149 stateside. They are priced at €149 in Europe and £149 in the UK. The company is offering an instant discount of $20 to early buyers. So if this pair fits right for your needs, then you wouldn’t want to delay the purchase. You can buy the newest Jabra TWS buds from the official website here.
