Earlier this week, Motorola announced that the Razr would be going up for pre-order this week. And that day has come. Pre-orders for the Motorola Razr opened today, and if you act quickly, you can save $100 off of the regular price.
Motorola is selling the Razr for $699, making it the cheapest foldable on the market, and now you can pre-order and save an additional $100. Making it just $599. If you pre-order, the device will start shipping on October 20 – that’s next Friday.
The new Razr is cheap, but still impressive
This Razr was actually announced back in May along with the Razr+ (or Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra internationally). It’s actually a pretty impressive smartphone, especially at this $699 MSRP.
It sports a 6.9-inch FHD+ 144Hz display, powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor along with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It also has a pretty large (by flip phone standards) 4200mAh capacity battery.
The biggest difference between this and the regular Razr+ is the front display. The Razr does not have that huge front-display, instead, it is a 1.5-inch display that basically shows you the clock, media controls, and some timers. That’s about it. You can also see notifications, but no details on those notifications. For that, you’d need the Razr+ which is $300 more.
It does also get a downgrade in the camera department compared to the Razr+. This comes with a 64-megapixel main sensor and a 13-megapixel ultrawide. It is also capable of doing Macro mode, which actually works really well. And on the front, there’s a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
Motorola’s new Razr also comes in plenty of playful colors. These include Sage Green, Vanilla Cream, Summer Lilac, Grape Compote, and Cherry Blossom.
All this for just $699 (or $599 if you pre-order), is pretty impressive, to say the least. So if you have been looking to get your hands on the new Motorola Razr (2023), now is definitely the time to do so.
