At CES 2022, Roborock has announced its latest robot vacuum – the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra. And as the name implies, it brings a lot of the MaxV features from the S6 MaxV to the S7 lineup. You can think of it as a mashup of the S7 and S6 MaxV, but things don’t end there.
Roborock is introducing ReactiveAI 2.0, this is a big upgrade from ReactiveAI that debuted on the S6 MaxV almost two years ago. It’s now powered by an RGB camera, 3D structured light, and an all-new neural processing unit. This all allows for the S7 MaxV Ultra to recognize objects in its path more accurately, and it will also adapt to them, to go around them easier. It is also able to now recognize and map furniture. So new in the Roborock app, is the 3D map. Allowing you to see a more accurate floor plan of your home, with your furniture.
When it comes to mopping, there’s a pretty big change with the S7 MaxV Ultra. You can now use soap to actually clean your floors. Roborock has worked with Unilever and its OMO-brand to create an optional solution that is exclusive to Roborock robot vacuums. This solution will help get rid of bacteria as well as tougher stains on your floors. And it’ll leave a fresh tea tree scent. Finally, it is also safe for pets and kids.
Roborock raises the bar again, with its suction power on the S7 MaxV Ultra. It now boasts a whopping 5100Pa. That is a huge increase from the 2500Pa on the S7 released last year.
There’s a new auto-empty dock in town
What makes the S7 MaxV so Ultra is, the new dock. Roborock is selling a new Ultra-Dock that does, literally everything. Instead of just emptying the robot vacuum’s dustbin like the previous dock, this one is able to refill the water tank on the S7 MaxV and also clean the mopping pad. Thus, it looks a lot different from the original dock.
There is a brush that is under the dock, and moves around to scrub the mopping pad whenever it is docked. This is just another way that Roborock is making cleaning even more automated for everyone.
Unfortunately, the filter is no longer available in the dock, as Roborock had to make room for the clean water and dirty water tanks in the dock. But you can opt to buy the S7 MaxV with the older Auto-Empty Dock. The S7 MaxV can work without an auto-empty dock, with the S7’s version or with this new Ultra-Dock. Giving customers even more options.
Finally, the new Ultra-Dock will be able to hold about seven weeks worth of dirt and dust. That’s slightly less than the previous model which was able to do about eight weeks.
When can I buy the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra?
Roborock says that the S7 MaxV Ultra will be available in Q2. We expect it to be available around the end of March or early April. Similar to the S7 last year.
Official pricing starts at $859 for the Roborock S7 MaxV. If you opt for the bundle that includes the dock – the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra – it’ll cost you $1,399. Making it the company’s most expensive robot vacuum to date.
