At CES 2023, Roborock has taken the veil off of its latest robot vacuum series. That’s the Roborock S8 series. Which is a trio of robot vacuums – Roborock S8, S8 Plus and S8 Pro Ultra.
Roborock says that the S8 series is the most powerful cleaning system that they have ever developed on a robot vacuum. It brings a lot of the features from the S7 and S7 MaxV, and enhances them. Making it so you can really forget about cleaning your home, as the robot takes care of everything.
Last year, the S7 MaxV debuted at CES, and boasted 5100Pa suction power. Which was the most on any robot vacuum on the market. This year, Roborock is stepping that up even further. With the S8 series boasting suction power of 6,000Pa. That’s going to pick up all of the dirt, dust and other debris in your home with ease. It has also introduced a new dual rubber roller brush that improves the pick up of dirt, and is less likely to get tangled with hair.
Better mopping and better obstacle avoidance rounds out the S8 features
The Roborock S8 also brings in better mopping, thanks to its VibraRise 2.0 mopping system. This will automatically lift the mop when cleaning on carpets. So that your carpet isn’t getting wet. The Sonic mopping has also been improved here, allowing for sonic mopping at a frequency of 3000 times per minute. On the S8 Pro, you’ll get two vibration modules, which provides an even better efficiency compared to the original mopping system.
Now let’s talk about the obstacle avoidance. It’s now Reactive 3D, instead of just Reactive AI. Much like the S6 MaxV and S7 MaxV, the S8 series is able to identify obstacles and clean around them. This also includes cleaning around pet waste, instead of running over it and having it spread all around your home.
When can I get the Roborock S8?
The Roborock S8 series will be available in the US starting in April 2023. It will be available from Amazon and Roborock’s own online store.
Roborock has not mentioned the price for all three models, just stating that it will start at $749. Likely for the regular S8 model. We should learn more as we get closer to that April date.
