Sony is far from being the top smartphone brand in the world, but that doesn’t mean that the company isn’t still popping out devices year after year. The Japanese Company still manages to raise some excitement for its new phones, and we’re looking forward to two new phones this year. However, there might be a third, as rumors point to Sony working on the Xperia Pro-II.
The Xperia Pro-I launched back in 2021, and it was definitely the most interesting Sony device of the year. This phone was an absolute camera powerhouse with a set of extremely powerful cameras. The notable thing about it was the 1-inch sensor in the main camera.
That beefy phone was the most expensive Xperia handset to launch that year coming in at $1,799. It’s currently being offered for $999, so if you are interested in that phone, you can pick it up for a 44% discount.
We have possible details on the camera for the Xperia Pro II
Since we’re talking about leaked specs and rumors, you will want to take this news with a grain of salt. The information we have on this phone it’s pretty scarce, so more updates will arrive as time goes on.
GSMArena notes that the rumors are pointing to this new device coming with an upgraded camera setup over the Xperia 1 V. That’s to be expected. The camera package is expected to have three Exmor-T stacked sensors.
So, the Xperia Pro 1 V will be the standard flagship device with the Xperia 10 V sitting at a lower tier. Towering above those two, we could have the Xperia Pro-II.
Right now, details are coming from different sources. One Source claims that the main camera will use the 1-in sensor while another one says that Sony will use different sensors this time around. This points to the phone being in very early development with no solid details about the camera just yet.
In fact, the Xperia Pro-II isn’t even expected to launch this year. Rumors point to an early 2024 launch. So, we are several months out from the launch. It’s even going to be a while before we get an official announcement. You will want to stay tuned as more information on this phone comes out.
