Xiaomi recently announced that both the Xiaomi 14 series and its HyperOS Android UI will become official soon, and the company now confirmed the launch date.
The Xiaomi 14 series launch date has been confirmed
The company’s latest flagship smartphones will launch on October 26, along with a UI that will replace MIUI. This timing is kind of surprising, as it comes considerably sooner than we’re used to. It was expected for this year, though, thanks to rumors.
As a reminder, the Xiaomi 13 series initially launched on December 11. So the Xiaomi 14 series will basically come a month and a half earlier. The launch event will happen in China, and this launch is for the Chinese market. The global launch will follow either at the end of the year, or in Q1 next year. It usually happens in Q1, though.
Why is Xiaomi launching its new flagships early? Well, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit is hosted at an earlier date this time around, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship SoC will be announced there.
The Summit starts tomorrow, and chances are we’ll get to see the chip then, even though it will last for a couple of days. That’s the SoC Xiaomi will use in its new flagships. The company probably wanted to get a head start over its competition.
The Xiaomi 14 & Xiaomi 14 Pro are coming, the ‘Ultra’ will likely launch later on
The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro are expected to arrive during Xiaomi’s event. The ‘Ultra’ model will likely launch at a later date, next year, probably. All of those phones are expected to utilize this processor.
In regards to HyperOS, Xiaomi announced it quite recently. The company did not share many details about it, but it just said that it will gradually replace MIUI on a global scale. Some screenshots of the UI did surface, though.
The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro are expected to include display camera holes once again, along with very thin bezels. They’ll have high-end specs, and likely very powerful cameras too. Leica will be a part of the package.
