Xiaomi announced its latest smartwatch, the Watch S1 Pro, and Buds 4 Pro earbuds in China back in August last year. Well, the time has come for their global launch. The Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro and Buds 4 Pro are coming to global markets, as Xiaomi announced at MWC 2023.
This announcement follows the Xiaomi 13 series’ arrival. The Xiaomi 13, 13 Pro, and 13 Lite were the stars of the show for the company. If you are in the market for a new smartwatch, or earbuds, well, these accessories may interest you.
Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro
The Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro is the company’s smartwatch that looks like a regular watch, for the most part. That’s what many of you prefer, so there you have it. It comes with a frame made out of metal, and with two different watch band options (leather and silicone).
This smartwatch features a 1.47-inch 480 x 480 AMOLED display with Sapphire glass protection. It does support the always-on display function. In case you’re wondering, Xiaomi’s proprietary OS (MIUI Watch OS) comes pre-installed.
The watch has a heart rate sensor, can monitor your blood oxygen levels, and also includes an array of regular smartwatch sensors you’d expect. It supports over 100 fitness modes, and can track your sleep as well.
There is a speaker included here, and the same goes for a microphone. A 500mAh battery is included in the package, and Xiaomi says it can last for 14 days of typical use. You should be able to get up to 10 days of heavy use.
The watch is watch resistant up to 50 meters (5 ATM), and it supports wireless charging. The charging puck is included, by the way. It’s good to see that the watch doesn’t rely on POGO pins.
GPS is also supported here, and so is Bluetooth 5.2. The watch measures 46 x 46 x 11.28mm, and comes with Wi-FI 802.11 b/g/n as well. There are two buttons included on the right-hand side of the watch.
Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro
The Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro are truly wireless earphones that come in a “space capsule” style case. These earbuds support Bluetooth 5.3, and SBC/AAC/LHDC 4.0 codecs. They also include 11mm dual-magnetic dynamic drivers, and offer Hi-Fi audio.
Yes, you’re also getting noise cancellation here, of up to 48dB when ANC is on. Speaking of which, yes, we’re talking about Active Noise Cancellation here, as these earbuds do have such support.
You will find a 3 microphone array here, and a bone voiceprint sensor too. There are three transparency modes available to users, and the ear handle supports the pressure-sensitive operation. You can control the music that way, answer calls, or switch between noise reduction modes.
The Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro earbuds come with an IP54 rating, and are quite light (5 grams per earbud), while the case weighs 49.5 grams.
What about their battery life? Well, Xiaomi says you can get 9 hours worth of battery life with ANC off, and 38 hours including the case. We’re not sure about the numbers with ANC on, though. The earbuds do support wireless charging, though, and there’s also a Type-C port at the bottom of the case.
